There’s a very good chance that a classmate and I will be working on the following 2 websites: Fellins Jewelers (www.fellins.com) and Partners In Education (www.partnersined.org). The incentive: this project will be worth a total of 3 credits towards my graduation. As you can see, these websites have already been made. So can you guess […]

Google Adwords also offers the option to insert advertisements into the geography of Google Maps. If you own a physical business, local business ads are an awesome way to make sure all your services are included in the local searches. Not only can you add additional key words for people to find you, but you […]

A worthy and competent leader is crucial, but the members of a group are just as important. That’s a cliche, right?
I stepped up to lead the IST Club at Penn State Hazleton this school year. As club president, my duties are to organize our meetings and events. I have fulfilled my responsibilites by consistently holding […]

Last week, I saw Kris Jones’ call-to-action on the pepperjamBlog about his company’s “hiring frenzy.” Pepperjam is a rapidly growing company (2006 Inc. 500 List of America’s Fastest Growing Companies), so Kris needs all the help he can get to keep up with the soaring demand for PPC management.
It’s completely random that such an […]

A few days ago I wrote about doing search engine optimization for the website of my mother-in-law’s nail spa. I just realized a stupid mistake on my part for the SEO aspect, and this weekend my personal project was to start a pay-per-click campaign for that site.

Penn State decided to give me $460 in undergraduate research funds for this spring semester. For just doing academic work, that’s more than one of my paychecks when I used to earn commission for selling tractors and lawnmowers at Sears.
As I mentioned on our IST Club website, Professor Alfredo Jimenez is working on a project […]

You probably heard about the recent theft of TJ Maxx’s customer records. Hackers stole thousands of credit card numbers from their database. If you have shopped at TJ Maxx, how do you if your credit card isn’t being maliciously sold in the black market right now?
Take this short online quiz from www.onguard.gov to test your […]

I was browsing through some Facebook Groups and came across this search engine optimization tournament: www.seoworldchampionship.com. I’ve never heard of SEO contests before, and the idea would seem wasteful at first glance. SEO is usually for a constructive purpose, so why would you muck up search results with temporary websites that have no other purpose […]

Here is one of the websites that I’m working on: www.purespausa.com. It’s a business website for my mother-in-law’s nail salon in Hackettstown, New Jersey. I recently remodeled it into a blog because it was too damn boring as an informative collection of static pages.
I’ve been trying to get it to rank in Google for the […]

DKNY, Phat Farm, Vanity Fair… They do it all. There’s a company called PepperjamSearch.com in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania that does affiliate program and search engine marketing.
It’s hard to see how successful or talented the company is because all their work is operating in the background. For example, their major service is Pay-Per-Click Advertising.
