Website Work for Fellins Jewelers and Partners in Education

There’s a very good chance that a classmate and I will be working on the following 2 websites: Fellins Jewelers (www.fellins.com) and Partners In Education (www.partnersined.org). The incentive: this project will be worth a total of 3 credits towards my graduation. As you can see, these websites have already been made. So can you guess what we will be doing for this project? Fellins needs some serious search engine optimization, while we need to take a flaming wrecking ball to the Partners in Education website and completely re-design it.

Fellins Jewelers is an e-commerce website for an already established jewelry store near my school. The jewelry store seems to have paid a nice chunk of money for a professional web design company to design their site and create a shopping cart system. The problem is that online shoppers cannot find them because they have absolutely no SEO work done to the site. I know that it will be very hard to rank for a search term like “diamond jewelry” because of the amount of competition involved, but there’s many other tier 2 search terms to work towards.

Partners in Education is a non-profit educational organization that is associated with our campus, somehow. I can’t say much about their current site, except that it looks like someone slapped up a personal website from 1998. What’s up with the revolving video camera clipart on their front page? This website should not be too much work once we devise a template with PHP.

Got Thoughts?

By all means share them, and start the conversation.
