Since I’m transferring to University Park next semester, that opens up a plethora of new options for me in IST, including the SRA major.
SRA is the new Security and Risk Analysis major in the College of IST, which is supposed to be a hot job lander. I’m not obsessed with the employment prospects, but I did gear my class scheduling for Fall 2007 towards SRA because I’ve always been interested in computer security. Most of the IST classes that I am currently taking or have taken (IST110, IST210, IST220) are requirements for the SRA major anyway.
SRA has three options to focus on:
- Intelligence Analysis and Modeling Option
- Information and Cyber Security Option (I’m choosing this option)
- Social Factors and Risk
In a search for SRA-related activities at University Park, the IST website says that an Information Assurance Club exists. But where’s the link to the club website?
Apparently, someone from the group made one but never obtained any inbound links, so it’s impossible to find on the search engine. I discovered the website by emailing the VP of the club.
So here’s the link to the Information Assurance Club website. Here, Google, eat this and digest it well.
Got Thoughts?
By all means share them, and start the conversation.
