I still do not have an internet connection at my new apartment in Wilkes-Barre. I am still pondering whether it is worth it to shell out the $40.00 per month for cable internet. And I proved myself correct for waiting by finding all this free internet in the area.
Right now, I am in the lobby of the Wilkes-Barre YMCA, making phone calls on Skype and checking my email. The YMCA employees at the front desk must think I am crazy. But I don’t care. Just like an old woman fiending for crack, I need my daily dosage of internet to complete some routine, important things.
The following is a list of some more free wireless hotspots in the area:
- Dunkin Donuts/Baskin Robbins - 532 Scott Street
- Martini Ristorante & Bar - N Main St & E Union St - coverage includes Kings College, S. Main Street and E. Union Street area
- Panera Bread - across from Wyoming Mall
- El Humador - Cigar Shop - Rt 309
- The Phoenix Plaza office building- 22 E. Union St.
- EZlinx.net - Downtown Public Square area
- Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport
