Note: Please do not go crazy on the following free available backlinks. The last thing I want is to throw up a red flag in this particular community and have them crack down on link moderation.

Quite a few blogs have an auto-linking feature appended to the bottoms of posts. This means that you can add your links with your choice of anchor text to a relevant entry. Is this a link spammer’s dream? Possibly, but I haven’t seen much bot activity on them yet, which might be because only a small fraction of blogs are using this link widget. Here’s an example of what this interface looks like:

Use this Google query to find blogs that have this auto-link feature. Most of these autolinking features are preceded by the text “This site is using Mister Linky’s Autolink Widget.” If you discover more creative ways of scoping out these blogs, please share them in the comment section.

What’s interesting to note about the user demographics is that most of them are moms. I know this because I have already raked through the entire SERP’s for the above query. My explanation for this phenomenon is that females are more concerned about socially connecting with their readers and plugins like this appeal to them.

If I had more PHP programming knowledge, I would write a script that would be able to hit every single vulnerable widget like this with a push of a button. But, as I mentioned above, this would spur extreme vigilance in the bloggers, and this free treat would not be available anymore. So please act accordingly, and thanks Mister Linky.
