301 Redirect Hijacking at Blogger Fusion

Lee recently started his new blog at www.BloggerFusion.com, and to his surprise, his domain has already been hijacked by a search engine spammer. It started out by Lee’s thinking that he was the shit because his domain was already showing a PageRank of 1. I had to question this because he had just bought the domain name only a month ago and the only content was one entry.

To investigate this matter, we ran a fake pagerank check and my assumption was correct: his pagerank is being forwarded to a spammy domain called DiveIntoWeb.com that says on its main page: “Alert! Sexually Explicit Results.” You can also check fake pagerank by referencing Google’s cache of the website, which should display a different website.

Blogger Fusion 301 hijacking

But this phenomenon is unexplainable. Lee’s blog has no indexed webpages in Google; Google shows 2 random-ass backlinks from a directory and a forum thread that do not link to www.bloggerfusion.com; and yet his blog has a cache that redirects to www.diveintoweb.com.

After I publish this post, Lee’s problem will probably be fixed because the Googlebot will re-crawl Blugger Fusion and update the cache. If that doesn’t work, then Lee’s Wordpress theme has some shady stuff going on with PageRank forwarding functions in its header.

By the way, check out Lee’s blog at Blogger Fusion and add it to your RSS feed. Lee works with me in the SEO department at Pepperjam and he is an intelligent, charismatic guy with a unique perspective in the field. Lee played football for Penn State University and he is now graduating with a degree in a major that he custom-designed: a practical combination of Information Sciences and Technology, Business Management, and Labor Relations. The theme of Blogger Fusion is logic and reality, so I presume that we will see more of personal experiences and opinions on current events rather than Lee’s experiences with SEO.

Good luck with your blog, Lee.

@Dennis: That can be simply done using a 301 redirect. Use a htaccess redirect. I suggest that you take a look at this webpage: http://www.webconfs.com/how-to-redirect-a-webpage.php

Let me know if you need any further details.

ok… thanks again, but one more question… if i want a page on a domain to redirect to a different page on that same domain… like, domain.com/page.php?item=11 to redirect to domain.com/page.php?item22&color=blue.. can i do that with the htaccess redirect and pass all the google pagerank from the first page to the second? thanks
