Cisco Network Emergency Recovery Vehicle

Today, we have Cisco Systems visiting us to see what our college is all about. This is also an opportunity for IST students to learn how Cisco manages to recover from extreme disasters such as Hurricane Katrina. Cisco’s Network Emergency Response Vehicle (NERV) is currently parked at the west end of the IST Building. The Network Emergency Response Vehicle is a mobile system that can be deployed anywhere in a timely fashion so that Cisco can bring their customers’ critical systems back into operation in a matter of hours.

Watch the following video tour of the Cisco Network Emergency Response Vehicle to find out what Cisco does in a network emergency and what type of equipment is in the vehicle to support a disaster.
