The Challenge website does not show any Russian teams. That's strange that no teams were produced from such a major country. Does Google have a strong presence there?

Very true, definitely. As a Russian I myself was particularly interested in finding out how the Russian teams performed (if any participated at all which I am not aware of and could not find the information from the program's website) and of course I could make no conclusions based on the AdWords IDs. So a little more transperancy could definitely help with it and I do believe that having the teams blog about their experiences would be a good idea as well.
