My wife will start working at a new hair salon opening up on College Ave. The store will actually be right underneath the offices of the Lion Launchpad, where Kutting Krew used to be.
I have an experiment that I want to run with this opportunity.
I am going to develop an informational website for my wife. The website will display information about the services she offers. Then I’ll setup and manage a geo-targeted Adwords campaign for a couple weeks to see what kind of traffic and results I end up with.
The campaign will target people searching for haircuts, waxing, facials and other cosmetic needs in State College, PA. (By the way, if you live in the State College area, the next time you need a haircut be sure to stop by and ask for Pauline.)
Since her work is commission-based, this campaign will resemble affiliate marketing. I’ll need to capture leads and track metrics like cost-per-action (how much it costs for a conversion), and carefully adjust my bids. But from my initial assessment, it looks like there will not be much competition at all.
I’ll post updates here about how it goes.
Got Thoughts?
By all means share them, and start the conversation.
